Foster The People

Last Wednesday I went to a Foster The People show!

It was more than great, because inicially I didn't have money so I was not even thinking about going to the show but a friend of mine found out where their hotel was and went there to meet them, then asked for a show ticket for her and for me and one of the guys put us on the bands list! So basically I went to the show for free! It was glorious. Early in the afternoon at the show's day I went to their hotel and got the chance to take pictures with Mark Foster and Mark Pontius, it was fun :)

I didn't take pictures myself because I really wanted to enjoy the show, I was pretty much in front of the stage and could see everything. The venue it happened is called 'Circo Voador', that roughly can be translated to 'the flying circus', hahaha.

But anyway, one of the best moments were when Mark Foster in the middle of Pumped Up Kicks ran to the second flor of the venue and jumped in the crownd: the only problem of doing this in Brazil is that we are probably not going to carry you  so that you can go onstage anymore, we're probably just going to grab you and try to hold you and all...well that's what happened. I din't even get near here there was too much people. lol

At the end I got a pick, my part of the ticket was all ruined because I kept it in my pocket the whole time and I probably lost 1kg because I sweat like I have never had before. All the pictures I posted are from I Hate Flash, (and yes, I'm in them, you just have to look a little more to find me, hahaha)  a really cool site that takes pictures of parties and shows here in Rio.

That's it!
Take Care, guys! :)

Tales of an Ordinary Day

These day have been pretty boring. I haven't done anything exciting. These pictures are from a day I went downtown to have my nails done. I edited them, if you guys want to see the colored ones, let me know.
What are you guys up to?

How wrong can someone spell your name?

Funny thing that  happened to me last weekend. I went to California Coffe, and ordered some drink that I forgot the name now. And well, they're pretty much like Starbucks: they ask your name and all. The woman who attendend me made this face like she understood my name, so I was ok. Then the guy called my name and ok, then WOW how wrong my name was! The last time someone spelled it wrong was like this: rhaysa (seriously, it has more letters than my actual name. lol

Anyway, just wanted to post and say that I'm alive. Thing are a little better at Uni now, my period ends at December 13th. Till there I have so many things to do. But I'll try to post more often, sometimes I just don't have anything to do and don't post because I'm lazy, haha.

Tomorrow I have this launch party to go to. They're opening a new Lomography Store here in Rio, and the party is a 'pre-party' because the store is not ready yet, they're doing it because the Store is going to a different location (this one I'm going to), nice huh? I'm definetely going. The problem is that I have to find the number of place, because I still don't know. They're doing it like a secret party; they give you tips and you have to find the place. Oh well, I got find it. I'll try to take some pictures in there.

Also, new layout. I easily get tired of seeing the same thing, so yeah, new layout! :))

So, this is it. Take care, guys!

Yes, I'm THAT disorganized.

Oh God! I'm more than sorry for the super massive lack of posts! Uni is literally killing me, SO many things to do, and OMG I HAVE to vent about it:

Something that really pisses me off is iresponsible people. And in Uni, at least here, you'll see it all the time. Not that I don't have my share of irresponsibleness however, I KNOW i'm wrong, and I care about it. This people, don't.

I'm not the person to judge anyone (Hey, they can do what they want), but this really gets on my nerves when it envolves ME: I had this group seminar's plan to prepare and oh, well I couldn't go to the reunion we'd make. To my surprise, the rest of the people went, as planned, but didn't do anything!
I had sent them sources and all so that they had my part of the work, and...NOTHING. We did it today, one day before we have to talk to our professor.

You know what is the best? A few days agor, we had the 'Choppada' (that's how we call a Uni party where beers are free, sometimes not just beer. For example, today we'd have Vodka and energetic drink), anyway my classes finish at 18:30pm and the party starts at 20:00pm and goes 'till people are there. I didn't know if I'd go because I didn't study much last weekend, so I have to update my readings and all. When I said I wasn't going people were all like 'WHY NOT?', I explained what I just wrote and 'OOH, you can do that on the weekend!', 'Who cares? We can do that next week, we don't have class!' I mean, really? I paid for the party (when you pay it, you can go to ANY other party as this one, and you don't have to pay it anymore untill you die. Yes, there are people with 30 years old, graduated at my UNI, already have their certificate and still go to theses parties) but I have more things to do!

I don't know if I'm beeing an over worried person, but none of them will do my papers, texts or seminars. I do like to party, but sometimes work comes before it. You know, sometimes I do what I want, but sometimes I do what I HAVE TO do. Even if this is my class's party, I can't go. It sucks? Yep, it does. But I like to think that I'm doing this for a better cause.

Ok, I vented to much, but I needed.

Gray Day

Hey, people! How are you? Nothing much happened these past days. Today I planned to buy some material to this project I have in mind (not sure yet If i'll go with it, if I do, I'll tell you guys all about it) and buy a new sweater. Oh, I said my plans never work out, right? Yeah, it didin't work out because my Mom took the money I had in my wallet! Cool, right? Anyway, I'll buy it this weekend when I receive some money.

I went to class like this, today. The weather is really weird, sometime it's sunny then it gets chilly and cold. I picked up this sweatshirt from my Mom (good thing we almost wear the same size in clothing). I like it very much, it warms you yet you can use it when it's sunny. I didn't take full bory pictures because my jeand has nothing special. The shoes are from Arezzo. I reaaally like the color.

Last weekend I didn't go out. My mood was not that great and I had to change my cellphone chip, because I'm a super intelligent person and in some way I blocked it. And now that I'm working I have little time to go out, but I'm working for a greater purpose that is to buy a new camera and save money for a trip, so, I'll have to make the sacrifice of not going out that much.

Anyway, hope you guys have a good week!

Laid Back

Right now, my life is in a very hurry pace. I need to gather the things I need to take to Rio, I'm working from 7AM to 6PM, I still have my english course to finish and I trying to save money to go Argentina with my friend (Have anyone here been there? Have some tips of places to go?) and buy a new camera. Actually, that's why I'm not going out that much. To save money.

Thank you very much to everyone that wished me Happy Birthday! It means a lot.

My tittle post has nothing to do with my life, as I said in the beggining. But I really loved this editorial. It was photographed by Jason Lee Parry, it stars Noot Seear (What a cool name, huh?) and it was published in the June/July isse of FOAM magazine. I like the laid back vibe of the pictures at the beach and how it spreads to the pictures in the streets and throughout the whole editorial. Also, the pink streaks in her hair are awesome. I wish I new how to do it. Anyone knows?

And how was mother's day? Mine was pretty chill. I stayed home watching movies with my mom.

Almost 18

Hi, guys! How have you been doing? I found a job, actually, I'm working with my mom. So that's why I'm not posting this much.

Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 18. Now I can actually learn how to drive, go to dance clubs, drink and all that. The bad thing is that I'm not learning how to drive, because I won't have a car when I go to Rio, I'll just use the subway and sometimes the bus.

Today I went to my english course, the wheather is a bit cold and chilly, so I decided to use a sweater, jeans and a flat. I normally don't use 'stylish' clothes to go to places like school or things like that. I think is a bit too much. I'm not doing anything that important there to dress up a little bit more. So it's a really basic look.

As you'll see, I changed my nail polish, now it's a sparkly yellow.

BUH!

Hope you have a great week!

Changes

If you've read my profile in the right side of my blog, you know that I was born in Rio. I don't live there since year 2000. I'm now living in the midwest of Brazil and pretty much spent my whole teen's years here.

However, as I wanted to major in Communication/Advertising, I needed to get out of here because the only Universities that had this major are the private ones (that are, well, expensive), and the Federal (that's how we call the ones that are sustained by the government and you don't have to pay if you get in) from the state I live in don't have this major. To achieve my goal of getting-the-hell-out-of-here, I did the ENEM*. For a matter of luck, the years I spent in the military school* and, actually, learned something (yep, I studied in one of these), many prayers and many nights that I couldn't sleep, I passed!

Now, I'm going back to Rio. Great! Right? Yeah, well, not so much as I'm thinking now. At the same time that I'm excited I'm a little scared. It's going to be a very different enviroment, new people (although I have friends there but they're not going  to study with me), new places, new everything. Because I'm going back now, after 11 years. I've spent my vacations in there through out those years, but it's not the same thing. I'm going to live there.

Many things are going to change: my house's number is not going to be 07 anymore. I'll have to memorize a new adress, I'm going to live with my Grandma, I'll have to manage my money, I'll have to learn again wich buses I'll have to take to get to some place, I'll have to pratically do everything by myself. I know that I'm going to grow a lot as a person, that I'm going to learn so many things, but it's weird. It's like I'm facing this big lion by myself, even when I know my family is going to be there (my whole family is from Rio, just me and my parents live here in the midwest).

It's really bittersweet. I still have 3 months before going there, so I'll try to manage this feeling. I'm going to see if it'll change by the time my last day in here becomes closer. I personally don't think it will, but you never know what it'll happen.

Have you ever felt this or experience some change like this one?
Take care, guys!

* if you guys want, I can explain exactly what ENEM and the military school are. I just didn't because the post would become huge.
