After 3 Months: POST 1

Hello, dear readers! I was M.I.A. for a while mostly because of my vacations back home and my beloved "time to think". My vacations were great and now I'm back in Rio and already studying again. Things are going really great here, and how about you guys? How have you been doing? I stopped reading blogs too, I have to catch up.

I decided to post now because I felt that just now my year started, you know? I don't know something just clicked and I'm feeling better right now. My "time to think" let me understand that some things take a while to happen and may not even happen if I don't work hard to get it. Things don't come easy nor they'll fall from the sky.

This blog manly will be a place where I come to vent and post some of my work (being it in photography or college assignments). I felt sometimes that I create this to get something that I didn't even know what it was, but now I get that I don't need that. I'm just going to enjoy it.

Anyway, these pictures are mostly from my vacation where I had some fun, drank too much, slept more than 10 hours and just did nothing at all. But it was good. More posts to come!

My rice - yes, rice - burn mark.

My new eye shadow that fell at the ground and I didn't even had used it.

My new nail polishes

The cover of my notebook I made with fabric leftovers

Yes, that's how we rolled here. Finished the bottle.

Me being too happy for no pasticular reason

Some of my gorgeous friends <3

One of the last views I had before coming back to Rio

That's it for now, guys! I'll see you soon, take care! :)

Oh Well - TL;DR

Going to a different topic... a few days ago, a girl wrote a post about fashion blogs in wich I agreed with certain points. The post is in portuguese, you can try to read it with google translator, if you want a translation I'll try to ask permition and post here later so you guys can read it more properly (The original: http://lookdodiadodia.tumblr.com/post/15371912939/carta-aberta-para-blogueiras-de-moda).

I'll talk about MY VIEW about fashion blogs in here:

I can't say I started reading them when they first started, however I got the chance to live and see this boom of blogs. I think blogs are a super awesome way of express your ideas, opinions and show your talents, art, way of dressing and etc. It's a pretty democratic way, because anyone can have a blog.

The Fashion ones got in a different level I think because 1) is a different way of showing a person the fashion world 2) you express your point of view about it 3) in the 'look of the day' section or whatever, you express your personality and even your way of using what's in trend 4) If your blog is considered good you get sponsors, and chances to work with people you didn't think you could 5) you can even earn money from it. In resume, it's a great 'open doors' and the networking is huge.

The problem is when the blogger change the editorial line and the way of expressing herself (or himself) because of itens 4 and 5. It's really sad when you get the vibe that the blogger is writing or doing the things that are posted on the blog because of these them. I feel like things changed and don't get that excited to read the post.

When I first read a post or see a picture in a blog I try to see the persons view. From the person's writing I try to see him/her character; from the pictures, him/her way of portraing whatever that is interesting to the person, and etc. And I get really frustrated when I just see pictures/post about the 50th trip to that place where the person got to know that person that does some thing that I really don't care about, or when there are just posts about sponsors and I get none useful information. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy these posts, the problem is in the frequency of them.

When it's just that what I see, I stop reading the blog. I feel like the essency of it is gone. There's nothing wrong about getting recognition, the problem is when that gets to your brain. I'll stand by the ones that still talks to their readers, that doesn't shut down their comments page because someone didn't agree with what was said in the post or that didn't like that blazer or something like that.

Nowadays I read few blogs, but those are the ones I really like and that I feel the blogger didn't change the editorial line of the blog and still writes the same (because when they change the way of writing I get super sad, omg). And understands that a person can have a different opinion from him/her.

Anyway, that's my two cents about this. Reminding that I'm not writing about anyone in particular, but in general, ok?

What do you guys think about this?

Yes, I'm THAT disorganized.

Oh God! I'm more than sorry for the super massive lack of posts! Uni is literally killing me, SO many things to do, and OMG I HAVE to vent about it:

Something that really pisses me off is iresponsible people. And in Uni, at least here, you'll see it all the time. Not that I don't have my share of irresponsibleness however, I KNOW i'm wrong, and I care about it. This people, don't.

I'm not the person to judge anyone (Hey, they can do what they want), but this really gets on my nerves when it envolves ME: I had this group seminar's plan to prepare and oh, well I couldn't go to the reunion we'd make. To my surprise, the rest of the people went, as planned, but didn't do anything!
I had sent them sources and all so that they had my part of the work, and...NOTHING. We did it today, one day before we have to talk to our professor.

You know what is the best? A few days agor, we had the 'Choppada' (that's how we call a Uni party where beers are free, sometimes not just beer. For example, today we'd have Vodka and energetic drink), anyway my classes finish at 18:30pm and the party starts at 20:00pm and goes 'till people are there. I didn't know if I'd go because I didn't study much last weekend, so I have to update my readings and all. When I said I wasn't going people were all like 'WHY NOT?', I explained what I just wrote and 'OOH, you can do that on the weekend!', 'Who cares? We can do that next week, we don't have class!' I mean, really? I paid for the party (when you pay it, you can go to ANY other party as this one, and you don't have to pay it anymore untill you die. Yes, there are people with 30 years old, graduated at my UNI, already have their certificate and still go to theses parties) but I have more things to do!

I don't know if I'm beeing an over worried person, but none of them will do my papers, texts or seminars. I do like to party, but sometimes work comes before it. You know, sometimes I do what I want, but sometimes I do what I HAVE TO do. Even if this is my class's party, I can't go. It sucks? Yep, it does. But I like to think that I'm doing this for a better cause.

Ok, I vented to much, but I needed.

About being honest and staying true to yourself.

This is more like a 'hey, have you stopped to see what you really want?' post. So, if you want pictures, clothing or something like that...You're not going to find it here.
Well, I started this blog with a very average concept. In here, I'd talk about fashion, University, and life or anything I would want to.

However, I fell like something is missing. Like my true self is missing in here, you know? I fell that what I was doing until now is not me. 'Look of the Day', uploading pictures of accessories and the like is not what I wanted. From now on, that will appear in here, but not everytime. So, if you are following me because of that, I'm so sorry, if you want to keep up with me, I'll be more than happy. If not, I'll understand. Not that I hate fashion or anything now, It's just that I don't have the confidence or the time to do things like that everytime.

I don't want to give up on this blog, because I like it. And it's a common thing in my life when things are changing I just give up or try to avoid it. And I don't want to do that.

From now on, things are going to change in here. If you want, wait a little bit. I'm working on the layout and other things (I have to find time to do these things, Uni is killing me lol).
Thanks for everyone that finds time to comment in here and everything, ok?

Take Care and See you soon!

I felt like doing nothing

Oh God, Hello! It's been a while since my last post, but as you can read the title of this one: I felt like doing nothing for this days. I was really not in the mood of blogging nor talking to anybory. I need some time to myself and to figure some things out. Nothing that serious, but time was needed and now I'm ok.
Now, it's already June and the day I'll move is getting much closer, I'm excited. I'm looking foward to this new chapter of my life.

I found out that I actually like filme cameras and now I'm saving to get one. Anyone has some suggestions? I was searching for a Canon EOS 30 (Elan 7). I want an used one to start taking some pictures, if I get the hang of it I'll save for a new one.

I'll leave you guys with some outfit pictures (Nike Sneakers, Vintage Plaid Shirt, Riachuello Shorts, Ring from my Mom) and this song from Foster The People, I've been listening to it nonstop. I really love the melody and how you can actually hear the bass. And again, thanks to the new followers and the comments.

Take Care!

MC Donald's

Yesterday I went out with a friends of mine. We didn't do much, just ate some things and talked about everything and nothing at all. If that makes any sense to you.
I didn't take a fool outfit picture. But here you can see at least what I wore in the top, a simple Jeans Shit.
I'm busy looking for a job these days, so I don't now if I'll post much this week. I'll make an effort anyway.
Excuse my nails in these pictures, I know I need to paint them agay, I need to find time though.
Take care!

Ignore my expression, here you can see my white ring properly.
Cute kid pouting at the right side. I use these rings that are on my left hand everyday.

Changes

If you've read my profile in the right side of my blog, you know that I was born in Rio. I don't live there since year 2000. I'm now living in the midwest of Brazil and pretty much spent my whole teen's years here.

However, as I wanted to major in Communication/Advertising, I needed to get out of here because the only Universities that had this major are the private ones (that are, well, expensive), and the Federal (that's how we call the ones that are sustained by the government and you don't have to pay if you get in) from the state I live in don't have this major. To achieve my goal of getting-the-hell-out-of-here, I did the ENEM*. For a matter of luck, the years I spent in the military school* and, actually, learned something (yep, I studied in one of these), many prayers and many nights that I couldn't sleep, I passed!

Now, I'm going back to Rio. Great! Right? Yeah, well, not so much as I'm thinking now. At the same time that I'm excited I'm a little scared. It's going to be a very different enviroment, new people (although I have friends there but they're not going  to study with me), new places, new everything. Because I'm going back now, after 11 years. I've spent my vacations in there through out those years, but it's not the same thing. I'm going to live there.

Many things are going to change: my house's number is not going to be 07 anymore. I'll have to memorize a new adress, I'm going to live with my Grandma, I'll have to manage my money, I'll have to learn again wich buses I'll have to take to get to some place, I'll have to pratically do everything by myself. I know that I'm going to grow a lot as a person, that I'm going to learn so many things, but it's weird. It's like I'm facing this big lion by myself, even when I know my family is going to be there (my whole family is from Rio, just me and my parents live here in the midwest).

It's really bittersweet. I still have 3 months before going there, so I'll try to manage this feeling. I'm going to see if it'll change by the time my last day in here becomes closer. I personally don't think it will, but you never know what it'll happen.

Have you ever felt this or experience some change like this one?
Take care, guys!

* if you guys want, I can explain exactly what ENEM and the military school are. I just didn't because the post would become huge.

Why I made this blog - part 2.

After seeing those pictures in the last post, the urge to get a blog came back again. I've had more than 5, however, they never lasted long enough.
Sometimes I feel that not many Brazilians post in English (not that they have to), and the amout of people you can reach descreases. I made this blog because I want to share some of the Brazilian Culture (not that I'm an expert in this, but I can share what I know), and some of my own thoughts, not just about fashion but in any topic that comes to my mind.

I was born in the 4th day of May and the name of the blog comes after it. Althought, I have a fun fact about it. In the school I studied, all of the students received and identification number, mine was 427. If you add this numbers you get: 4 + 2+ 7 = 13. Right? Now, add: 1+3 = 4. Yeah, you get the day I was born. I'm not saying that it's some destiny thing, it's just something I found interesting.

Anyway, I hope that anyone that reads my blog have a fun time.
Thank you,
Raissa.
